Whole Wheat Bread


1 1/4 tbsp. dried yeast

4 cups of wholewheat flour

1 tsp. salt

2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil


Mix the yeast with 1 1/4 cup water.

Place the flour, salt, sugar, olive oil in a large mixing bowl and combine well.

Add the yeast mixture and knead well for about 10 minutes.

Cover and let it stand in a dark place to raise for about 2 hours or overnight.

Oil a bread tin (9” X 5” X 3”). Turn the dough onto a clean surface and knead for another minute or more.

Shape the loaf by rolling up tightly into a sausage shape and then place in the prepared tin, seam side down.

Cover with a kitchen towel and let the dough rise again.

Preheat the oven for 10 minutes to 200 degrees C. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped on the bottom. Remove from the tin and cool before slicing.
